This presentation of the wall is sponsored by the Antelope Valley American Legion
Post 311 who wishes to thank the City of Lancaster and the local chapters of the
Disabled American Veterans and the Marine Corps League for their assistance and
support. The sponsors would like all to know that viewing of the wall will be
available 24 hours each day, 7 days each week while it is here, and further that
there are absolutely no charges involved for parking, admission, viewing, etc. You
may buy event T-shirts at Post 311 prior to, during and even after the presentation
(call 946-1919 for information), but there will be no sales of any type allowed at
the presentation. There will be a coffee and soda or coffee and ice-water stand
available for viewers, also without charge.
Since names on the wall are arranged chronologically by casualty date, many
visitors find it difficult to locate names. There will be volunteer help available
to assist in locating names on the wall, but for those who would like to locate
names in advance of their visit, the following is an excellent site which will
provide very complete, detailed information about every name, including service
history and the location (panel and row) of that name on the wall: http://www.vietvet.org/thewall/thewallm.html
The Moving Wall organization has an Internet site Home Page, the "Moving Wall",
which provides excellent information about the background, history, schedules, etc
of the wall and of the men who persevered to present not only their original, but
eventually, three such replicas of the actual Viet Nam Wall. The Home Page of the Moving Wall organization, at http://www.themovingwall.org/. It provides
excellent information about the history, schedules, etc., of the wall and of the men
who persevered to present not only their original, but eventually, three such replicas.
